FDBA x Stella Artois Labor Day Weekend

The Frederick Douglass Boulevard Alliance (FDBA) in partnership with Stella Artois will host a special community event over the course of Labor Day Weekend along Frederick Douglass Boulevard (FDB) during our regular open streets program.

Events over the weekend will include yoga, live music and a silent disco. We have also created a food map for attendees to support restaurants on the boulevard.

Our partnership with Stella Artois is a continuation of our support for local eateries along the boulevard impacted by the pandemic. Last winter Stella Artois donated 24 greenhouses to FDBA which were then given to restaurants to use for outdoor dining. These greenhouses were a lifeline for local restaurants and provided a cohesive appearance along the boulevard.

Open Streets 2021

FDBA is pleased to announce that the NYC Department of Transportation  (NYCDOT) has approved our application for a second year to participate in the Open Streets Program on Frederick Douglass Boulevard between 112th and 120th streets (excluding between 117th and 118th) beginning July 2, 2021.

Open Streets has been a successful initiative in neighborhoods throughout New York City and is also a way that New Yorkers can show their support for restaurants that have been affected during the COVID pandemic.

Local businesses on Frederick Douglass Boulevard ("FDB") are some of the largest employers of residents in the community. This initiative allows you and your family to get outside and experience the neighborhood and support our fantastic food establishments.

Open Streets on FDB will begin on July 2, 2021, and will conclude on September 30, 2021, and hours of operation are as follows:  Fridays 5:00pm-10:00pm, Saturdays from 12pm to 10:00pm, and Sundays from 12:00pm to 9:00pm. Please note that during Open Streets all vehicular traffic (including cars and buses) will not be allowed on Frederick Douglass Boulevard from W. 112th to 120th streets. Please note, that the M10 bus will be rerouted one block over to Adam Clayton Powell, Jr. Blvd.
