FDBA Presents the Fifth Annual Food & Drink Boulevard Event

On June 8, 2016 from 6:00 to 10:00 p.m., the Frederick Douglass Boulevard Alliance will hold its fifth annual Food & Drink Boulevard event, an evening of food, cocktails, music and entertainment along Harlem’s Restaurant Row on Frederick Douglass Boulevard from 110th to 124th Streets. Food & Drink Boulevard kicks off the summer in the city and invites local residents and visitors to explore restaurants and bars along the Frederick Douglass Boulevard corridor by buying tickets to receive significant discounts at each participating venue. Explore the Gateway to Harlem, and sample food and drinks at the various establishments involved in Food & Drink Boulevard, each featuring its own unique flavor and vibe.

Participating bars and restaurants include 67 Orange Street, Angel of Harlem, Harlem Burger Co., Harlem Food Bar, Harlem Tavern, Hop House Harlem, Jado Sushi, L Lounge, Lido, LoLo’s Seafood Shack, Mess Hall, Row House, Silvana, Streetbird and Vinateria. Sponsors of the event include Bridgehampton National Bank, Best Market, Bohemia Realty Group, Columbia University, GoNoFee.com, Harlem Community Development Corporation and M&T Bank. The Frederick Douglass Boulevard Alliance is also partnering with Uber to provide free rides for up to $20 to ticket holders who are new users of the app, and will provide ticket holders who are new and existing users with $20 off their first UberPOOLride.

Two new aspects of this year’s event include a scavenger hunt-style contest called Booze Clues and a social media contest. Booze Clues will encourage ticket holders to answer a series of trivia questions about participating venues by visiting each to retrieve the requested information to win a premium prize package, while the social media contest will award prizes to patrons who receive the most likes on their Twitter or Instagram post that uses the #fooddrinkblvd event hashtag. Prizes include a one-night stay at Aloft Harlem, gift certificates to Lido, LoLo’s Seafood Shack, Land Yoga, Levain Bakery and Harlem Shambles, among other Frederick Douglass Boulevard establishments, and Uber gift cards.

Tickets to Food & Drink Boulevard will be sold online, starting on May 16, 2016 at a discounted rate of two tickets for $10 until 11:59 p.m. on June 7, 2016, and will be available for purchase in person on the day of the event, June 8, 2016, for $10 each at Harlem Tavern, 2153 Frederick Douglass Boulevard on the corner of 116th Street. All proceeds from Food & Drink Boulevard ticket sales will support Frederick Douglass Boulevard Alliance’s small business promotion, street cleaning and community building initiatives.
